A Vida Portuguesa
Chita Collection
The cover pattern reproduces the design of an old Portuguese printed chita from the Pereira de Sampaio Collection.
Like the British chintz, the Portuguese chita was inspired by Indian prints from the 16th century, which arrived in Europe to develop an entire history full of floral motifs and, almost always, with an exotic touch.
The Portuguese Life of Carminho
"This is a very special edition from Emílio Braga’s notebook, a historic portuguese brand with notebooks that have accompanied me through life. I can only accomplish if I write. I write to remember, to practice, to transform… I often write without reading it back. The simple act of writing inspires me to continue.
I’m honoured to launch this “Portuguesa” version of one of the most significant objects of my career: an Emílio Braga’s notebook."
Carminho
Wrapping Paper Collection
It is the genuine Portuguese notebook, pocket sized, with 100 sheets, entirely handmade.
Like the other ones, it has a distinctive spine and corners bound in colourful fabric. Unlike the other ones, it bears a printed cover, using vintage Portuguese wrapping paper.
The sheets inside are plain but it comes with a thicker separate paper, both with a ruled and a squared side, for guidance.
Bela Silva Collection
The designs were created by the artist Bela Silva, inspired by clay figurines from Barcelos and Estremoz, 18th-century Portuguese jewelry patterns, and old chintz fabric designs. They are colorful, luxurious, and unmistakable.
